This article explains how to monitor the status or presence of other extensions with Bria.
When using shared domains with Bria you may not have access to a predefined rosters or directory of contacts. You are typically in a shared domain when you login using credentials like 1022-acme@uc.linkedip.com or 333-acme@pbx.linkedip.com. If you login with credentials like 101@mycompany.com then these instructions are not for you.
Monitoring Presence with Bria
Monitoring other's presence is really simply. With Presence monitoring you can tell if a 3rd party extension is available or busy. You just need to follow these steps:
1. Locate the Contacts icon at the bottom bar:
2. Click on add contacts at the right of the Search Contact bar:
3. Add your parking lots to the group of your preference and using a Softphone type of contact:
Please repeat this for each of your parking lots: 701-acme , 702-acme, etc. Usually you get 50 parking lots but you typically use the first ones. Just enable the ones you consider you use the most. They can use this method to add all the extensions and monitor them (101-acme, 102-acme, etc).
It should look like this:
It should be green when available and red when busy.
