It may be the case your business phone system is provisioned with more than one local phone number. In some cases it may be desired that certain extension or group of extensions are presented with a different Caller ID when calling out.
To change the number that people we are calling from our extension can see in their screens, you have to:
• Login with your credentials in the Cloud Telephony portal https://pbx.linkedip.com
If you have no yet been assigned login credentials, please request them at support@linkedip.com
• Once you have logged in, go to Configuration> Extensions
Find your exension in the list or search for it in the search bar and click on it, in this example we will search for extension 1100
This is what you should see at first sight after clicking your extension:
• Scroll down through your extensions settings until you find the section "Outbound Calls"
There you will see a field called "External CID Number:" which has a down arrow to choose a number from our list of numbers available that displays like this:
You will notice the current one highlighted in blue. Choose another one by clicking it. Once the new number has been selected, the list will collapse and the new number will show now in the field.
• To finish, you have to scroll down and find the "Save" button and click it. Note that if this step is not made, changes won't be applied.
* If what we want is to hide our number instead of showing a different one, the External CID Number field's list has an "ANONYMOUS" option that can be used.
