Overview
The following article explains how simple is to send an outbound SMS or MMS message through an Open Channel integration. LinkedIP and XCALLY USA feature sending rich SMS and multimedia messages MMS through XCALLY.
Requisites
Before proceeding please make sure your environment has the following setup:
- A valid Open Channel license
- A working Open Channel integration
- Aconfigured Open Channel account for SMS or MMS
If you don't have these requisites please contact us at support@linkedip.com to request an Open Channel integration for SMS and MMS.
Procedure using Account Channel
1. From the Agent's GUI please locate the Open Channel icon ('') on the left menu bar and click there.
Identify the Open Channel Interaction bar:
2. Then click on the ('') sign to start a new conversation.
3. Then click on the Account (usually related to the phone number) you want use to start your conversation:
4. Under the To field please type or search for your destination number and click Enter:
5. Use the window to compose your message. If applies you may search for available canned answers:
6. Click on Send button.
A new interaction will be initiated. If a previous conversation was not closed you will continue the conversation where it was left off.
Procedure using Contact Manager
Alternatively you can also start an outbound SMS/MMS message by finding a contact in Contact Manager. Once the contact is displayed please look for the Click To Open Channel icon ('') located at the top right of the Contact Manager window:
Click on the icon and you will be prompted by the Account or Phone Number that you want to use to send out a message.
